The Private Side of Leadership

I’m pleased to announce the release of my wife's new book, The Private Side of Leadership: An Honest Guide for Leader's Wives. Linda's journey of many years as a leader's wife, along with the stories of other leader's and their wives, has brought many experiences and opportunities filled with lots of joy but plenty of sorrow too.

This book opens the door to the complex

and hidden challenges of life lived

alongside a leader. Despite the increased

visibility, responsibility and joy that can

come with their husband's role, wives

often face their own unique obstacles

and hardships. Leader's wives can find

themselves feeling unknown and invisible,

left to face the hurts, fears and disappoint-

ments of their journey misunderstood and alone.

An Honest Guide

Linda explores the hidden challenges wives face:

  • Feeling valued and loved

  • Dispelling the Myth of the “Perfect Family"

  • Accepting Loneliness at the Top

  • Overcoming a Discontented Heart

  • Dealing with Conflict

  • Joining the Fellowship of His Suffering

  • Building up or Tearing Down our Homes?

Along with leader's wives, this book can also benefit every woman as many readers have expressed: "although written to leader's wives, every woman would enjoy and benefit immensely from Linda’s wisdom and counsel."

If you desire to love and support a leader's wife, this book will give you a greater understanding and a deeper compassion for those you know in this role. And if you are a leader's wife, this book is your invitation to find a place of respect, a place to be heard, to grieve, to heal; then leave refreshed and restored to go live the life God is calling you to live.

Praise for The Private Side of Leadership.

"The Private Side of Leadership is a masterpiece that enters the personal world of a leader’s wife. As the wife of a corporate executive, I would have loved this book for guidance and encouragement as a young wife. In fact, every woman would enjoy and benefit immensely from Linda’s wisdom and counsel."

Catherine Fitzhugh

Corporate executive’s wife and author of Walk with Me: Caring, Living, and Planning Well for Aging Parents

"Although written primarily for leader’s wives, The Private Side of Leadership is beneficial for any woman. Because she is honest and transparent about her own struggles as a leader’s wife, readers will find in her a kindred spirit who can guide them through and beyond their hurts, disappointments, and fears."

Cindy Beason

Wife of a retired Air Force officer and Bible teacher
